Self Care is more than a routine, it's a lifestyle. I learned in order to maximize my needs I had to identify how to listen, check, prioritize and support my needs. In order to do that I had to create a regimen. Regimen is a treatment, way of life, or promotion or restoration of health. To honor a self care lifestyle we have to know what we need, how to identify our feelings, how our trauma is trigger, what we value and then create a self care regimen. A regimen allows us to self soothe in a good, bad and in between time, the key is intentionality. You won’t show up for yourself if you aren’t intentional. Lacking intentions show up in how discipline you are, how confident you are and how consistent you are. Intentionality can also show up in how you think, what you talk about, what you learn and things you do! Life will happen, things will be out of our control and it can really be daunting. But the Lordddd give us the spirit to live in who he has called us to be. “And you yourself must be an example to them by doing good works of every kind. Let everything you do reflect the integrity and seriousness of your teaching.”
