Meditation on Self Love

Self love I now understand is much more than an emotion, it’s an existence

Have you really ever sat and thought, wow I love me. Not the type of love that’s conditional when everything is good, but that agape love that when everything is wrong it’s still right? Lately, I have been intentional about listening to my voice, acknowledging my feelings and checking in with my worth. In seasons, I noticed a shift of who you are can be toggled when people put their expectations, experiences and emotions on you. I watched a scene on All American when Lali was talking to a producer, she realized what she was confident in but it shifted when it didn’t align with someone else's vision. It spoke to me because I believe you won’t have to force an alignment; Alignment with what you need, value, feel, trigger or soothe. Self love I now understand is much more than an emotion, it’s an existence. An existence to choose what’s best for you, what’s good for you and what works for you. Existence is a natural form of being, so don’t let confusion, comparisons and criticism make you feel like what is for you isn’t. I told myself I want to stop feeling guilty for what I want to do and what I want to achieve, I want to stop questioning my worth if it doesn’t align with how others see best, except God and I want to stop second guessing what I know and be confident in it. I’m learning in order to combat insecurities and flaws I have to meditate on my self love; that’s my existence to be exactly who I am and what I want to be.
